CEPU and Milcom helping the IT&T Job seekers
The CEPU NSW T&S Branch & Milcom Communications is about to launch a valuable new service designed to improve the job search prospects of members looking for employment in the Information Technology and Telecommunications fields.
This free service will make the qualifications and experience of CEPU members available to prospective employers, and contact members with suitable opportunities. Additionally (for a fee) members can elect to enhance their employment prospects by translating their skills and career experience into nationally recognized certification using Milcom's ProfessionalQ process.
Registered Training Organisational (RTO) Status Confirmed
At MILCOM we firmly believe in maintaining and improving our high standards of quality training. We are therefore happy to confirm that we have been found compliant with the standards set by the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).
This means Milcom retains it's status as a Registered training organisation in the area of Telecommunications, Information technology and as a Work place trainer. Not all training organizations are able to meet these exacting standards.
In addition, MILCOM has been granted CRICOS status, allowing it to offer a comprehensive range of courses to overseas students as well as nationally.
Telstra approved C.A.N. Training Expanded
Courses have seen an increase in demand so Milcom is now scheduling extra courses in March/April. Located at our St Marys & St Leonards Training Centre sites the CAN training courses include:
Pit & Pipe, Cable Hauling and Cable Jointing courses,
Aerial Construction Courses
Restricted Registration & Open Registration courses

Milcom is proud to announce it has secured a position as Telstra preferred training partner. Contracts have recently been signed for training personnel in Telecommunications, Information Technology and Internet & Telstra Partnership

'Gap' Training
Milcom provides the 'gap' training that will specifically target credits required to obtain your certificate.
For a limited time the total cost of your personally tailored package will be reduced by 15% however classes are limited so book early.
Milcom invites all its existing registered cablers to have their telecommunications skill, knowledge and experience converted into a formal, nationally recognised qualification.

New Profile Wizard
A form has been created to demonstrate how you can achieve a certificate III in Telecommunications Cabling.
Courses and certificates you have already obtained are credited towards your certificate. Experience you have gained 'on the job' and through other training can also be converted to course credits through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
If you have MSExcel installed on your PC you may download this file to see what your training path looks like.

With the help of Tech Rentals Milcom provides facilities and training that utilizes the latest in specialist equipment for training and consulting work. Trenching Machine Operators Course
OH&S courses are always in demand and several companies have asked us to develop safety courses for specific appliances/hardware. We developed this course with the assistance of industry and the manufacturer. A “Trenching Machine Operators Course” is now available for inexperienced operators and another course runs for experienced operators. The one to two day course provides you with the skills to safely operate this piece of machinery.
Norfolk Telecom
Milcom also secured a contract to deliver training needs to Norfolk Telecom. We had to send our trainer Mr. J Thompson to Norfolk Island for a period of 10 days, where he delivered training courses in the areas of Open Registration, Cat 5 & Optical Fibre.
PowerTrack
Milcom in conjunction with the manufacturer has developed the PowerTrack course. Designed for electricians the course covers the skills needed to install and connect PowerTrack hardware. Non-electricians who do the course may still install PowerTrack but connection must be done by a licensed electrician. Course details can be obtained from Milcom.
